Key Measures:

• 1. Smoke detectors — Install in hallways and bedrooms. They alert you within the first minutes of smoke detection.
• 2. Fire extinguishers — A 1–2 kg unit in the kitchen. Small fires can be put out before they spread.
• 3. Evacuation plan — Every member of the family should know how to get out quickly. Make a routine and practice it monthly.
• 4. Safe exits — Make sure all windows and doors can be opened easily.
• 5. Inspections — Check electrical cables and appliances regularly.
